Polyester-based TPU exhibits excellent thermoplastic properties and can be processed using a variety of established plastic manufacturing techniques, including injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and calendering. Injection molding is suitable for producing parts with complex geometries and high dimensional accuracy requirements, whereas extrusion is primarily used for continuous products such as tubing, films, and cable jacketing.
Since polyester-based TPU is somewhat hygroscopic, thorough drying is typically required prior to processing to prevent moisture-induced molecular degradation, which could compromise product performance. Properly controlling processing temperatures, pressures, and cooling rates helps enhance product quality and production efficiency while extending the service life of the processing equipment.
